Basic demonstration of existing OrthalignVR functionality. Unrigged skeleton results in the unflexed knee. Screen recording is compressed.

  • Immersive introduction with Orthalign branding and introduction of KneeAlign system
    • Features open space (Matrix loading dock)
    • Narration and music
    • Logo displays, stats, one sentence
    • 2 jigs, nav unit appear (Figure 1)
    • “Use the triggers to interact with objects”
    • Display UI prompt on objects to touch, user touches one
    • “Very good, let’s begin”
    • Fade to black
  • Fade into operating environment
    • Room scale environment with table, knee prepared w/ incision
    • Tibial jig and femoral jib floating in UI menu with Nav Unit and sensor
    • “Select the tibial or femoral jig to begin” (Figure 2)
    • Animation w/ audio cue, narration “Ok let’s do the tibial jig”
  • Tibial demo
    • Jig floats down, pauses above the knee
    • Landmarks are highlighted, narration:
      • “ACL footprint”
      • “Medial 1/3rd of the tuberical”
    • Jig snaps in, calf strap wraps around leg, 2 pins fly into slots
    • Animate tibial offset and registration, live statistics, ALL narrated (Figure 3)
      • Midline probe slides forward to ACL footprint landmark (posterior)
      • Adjust malleolar probe to match midline probe number
    • Animate malleoli registration
      • Levers unlock
      • Ankle tube slides down, swings over to the 2 sides
      • Returns to original resting point
    • Setting cut angles (interactive)
      • “Now we’ll set cut angles”
      • Left-right movement interaction prompt (V/V# appears preset incorrectly)
      • “Adjust the V/V angle until you’re satisfied, then lock the angle with the V/V lever”
      • Dominant hand moves malleolar probe to within 5, other hands taps switch
      • Same for posterior slope (PS# appears preset wrong, same interaction/narration
    • Remaining technique is animated
      • Possibly bone cut is interactive
    • “Success narration with stat; Now, the femoral jib (the other jig)”
  • Femoral demo
    • Jig flies down to femur, pauses above leg
      • Landmarks are highlighted, narration:
      • “Trochlear sulcus” (knee center), then the pin towards hip center
    • Jig snaps in, 2 pins fly in and secure
    • Input offset on device, preset at 4, animated
      • On HUD Nav Unit, 4 clicks to get to 4
      • “Prepare for femoral maneuver”
    • Begin interactive portion, narrated
      • Show video of maneuver on adjacent plane
      • Show controller positions to target, require similar alignment
      • Hold triggers to move leg, leg moves 1:1
      • Stoplight, then execute on green
    • Interactive maneuver
      • 5 seconds to complete
      • Display “meters” horizontally and vertically for movement (Madden field goal analogue)
      • At the end, error if the entire leg breaks a plane, otherwise pass
      • Registered, animate the rest of the procedure
    • Setting cut angles, narrated
      • Screwdriver animated to make adjustments
      • Resection depth animated
      • Cutting block drops, bone cut
    • “Congrats you completed Orthalign VR”
    • Stats are back, neutral environment, take off the headset.
